If we see over the situation these days’ internet has covered up almost every wireless device in our home. The internet need a stable router connection to connect every device you are wishing for. A well installed router always makes sure for your smooth connection. So, if you are the one who is looking up a guide for connecting and installing the router then follow this beginners guide till the end.

1.Check Your Internet Connection

First and foremost, thing you need to note down is the connectivity of internet connection mainly because the internet connection would be able to put the soul over the router. Also, some ISP gateways offer combined modem and router functions. In this case, you’ll want to make sure the modem/router combo is set to bridge mode. This should be explained in whatever instructions came with the gateway device. It would be great to setup for you if you read over the instructions well.

2. Router placing

It is the simple thing to note out but yet means a lot. The speed of your internet connection difference from a room to next even in the same house. It’s better to place out the router near your workstation so that you do not have the problem of signal strength. A higher position like a high-shelf is preferred more as it tends to bring out less radio waves towards you. It would be great if you consider to place your router while setting up far from the metal objects, brick or concrete walls to avoid the potential interface and try to keep the router far away from the microwave, since it puts out the same frequencies that your wireless signal uses.

3. Connect to Power

Now here comes the part you were seeking from the top. Be sure that you have fulfilled the previous points well. Once the router is powered on do check whether router’s indicator lights are well activated or not. I am saying this simple stuff because some will blink or change color during the setup process, indicating certain functions and changes, but there should be a light that shows when the router is properly plugged in and turned on. Don’t worry at all if the indicator lights are yet not turned on wait a while after plugging in the router, as it may take a few moments for it to get up and run.

4. Connect to Your Internet Source

We highly recommend you to do this perfectly because this particular step will be connecting your router to your internet source, it a cable or DSL modem or similar ISP gateway. To perform this task, you’ll use a basic Ethernet cable, plugged into the router’s WAN or internet port. The main work of this cable is to distinguish from others on the device with a different color, or it may be physically separated from the rest of the ports with a space.  To confirm whether the entire process was completed well do quickly open wired connection, just as you did when confirming an active internet connection.

5. Check out the Router’s Interface

The internal interface depends from a router to next. After you set up everything look well over the router interface through the browser you are used to. While you’re activating the Wi-Fi, you’ll also want to choose an encryption protocol for your wireless network. Skip Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) if it’s offered, since the standard has been shown to be woefully insecure for at least the last decade. We recommend using Wi-Fi Protected Access II (WPA2) protection, since it’s much more secure.

6.Connect to the devices

You are almost done setting up the router now. The last thing you need to do is connect on the available ports with   Ethernet cable if you want to physically connect any devices to your router, such as a printer, game console, TV or internet phone system. If you are not in need of that do simply set up a name with a strong password and connect it to you PC, laptop phones or any other compatible devices.

If you do everything well as explained above, we don’t expect you to face any problems but yet if there arise any problem while setting up; no worry at all. Feel free to contact us or comment down below.
